Our Commitment

The Cumbrian Hotel is committed to making our services accessible to all guests, including those with disabilities or additional needs. We strive to provide a welcoming environment and, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to assist guests.

If you have any specific requirements, please contact us before your stay so we can do everything possible to accommodate you.

Physical Accessibility

We want to be transparent about our building so you can plan your visit accordingly:

• The Hotel is located in a period terraced building. There are steps at the entrance.
• Rooms are spread across multiple floors. There is currently no passenger lift. Access to upper floors is via stairs only.
• We do not currently have rooms specifically adapted for wheelchair users. Please contact us to discuss your needs and we will advise on the most suitable room available.
• Every room has a private bathroom with a shower. Walk-in showers or wet rooms are not currently available.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at The Cumbrian Hotel. Please inform us at the time of booking so we can prepare accordingly. Ask us about other pets before you book.

Communication

We are happy to communicate with guests in their preferred format. If you require information about the Hotel or your booking in a different format, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

• Email enquiries are welcome and will be responded to promptly.
• We can communicate via text message or WhatsApp where this is more convenient.
• For guests who are deaf or hard of hearing, written communication is preferred. Please email us at any stage before or during your stay.

We aim for this website to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We have taken steps to ensure:

• Sufficient colour contrast across all text and interactive elements.
• All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable.
• Images include descriptive alternative text.
• Every page is served as full HTML, so core information is readable without JavaScript.
